Ussi Se Thanda… Ussi Se Garam…

I don’t know how to put this in English…

Ussi se thanda, ussi se garam… :)

I learnt this in my childhood…

When you feel cold you blow air from your mouth and make yourself warm…

And when you hold something hot you blow air from your mouth to cool it…

This is called “ussi se thanda, ussi se garam…” :)

So many times I did a lot of things for friends without any terms and conditions…

I think I always do things without any terms and condition…

And so many times I stood by people against all odds…

I remember how people would sms me saying, “sir ji… mere bachche aapki ghulami karenge”

I remember actors saying , “sir… I owe everything to you… whatever I am… I am because of you.”

I remember technicians trying hard to get my film and I stood by them when they were NOT supported by anyone…

And now when I stop and look back… I find that all of them have betrayed me…

I have helped them not just by giving moral support but by actually giving practical support from money, to my time, to my creativity.

Tentative gains…

People chase tentative gains…

People remain tentative…

When I was choosing people or selecting actors or technicians, a lot of people warned me that these people are not trustworthy.

I defended them…

But now I realise, they are definitely not nice people…

Neeyat… intentions…

It makes you or breaks you…

They all will live with my creative curse…

God is great… he always helps me to survive against all odds…

That’s how life is…

When people change, I always remember this short story…

Ussi se thanda… Ussi se garam…

Please remember one thing…

“parchhai se kad nahi naapte… zindagi ki dhoop roz badalti hai…”

 HMMMM.....

HMMMM…

you ONLY can do it…

kapil the great

kapil the great

Few days back my family and my closest friend Kapil was little hurt… Hurt with his own people…

He told me that he is always there for his family and friends but when he needs them, they conveniently decline him.

This happens with me also all the time. I go out of my way to help everybody and anybody. And most of them have betrayed me.

Now… They want to come back to me… and I know why…

But life is one way traffic… a lot of things we can’t undo… We should not…

I sat with Kapil and told him to be independent… independent from all…

My father taught me this in college days, “jo kaam tum khud apne liye nahi kar sakte wo tumhare liye koi nahi karega”

This is really true…

Things which you can’t do for yourself nobody will do for you…

It’s our life… our vision… nobody can understand it.

Why to depend on anybody anyways?

So many times my assistants goof up during the making of the film… Most of my technicians take me for granted for my friendly nature… Sometimes they don’t even bother to reply to my sms’s. And I never repeat them in my next films…

I will never…

I am not dependent on them for sure.

We have to be one man army in our lives.

We have to lead it the way we want… Without complaining or getting stuck.

People can’t change, they won’t.

Just realize your own power and move on.

So Kapil

Get On Your Mark…

Get Set…

And Go…:)

Moments…

Moments…

You can’t design them… They just happen…

After they’re over, you can give several definitions or explanations… but you can’t plan them…

I was coming back from Filmcity and got stuck in traffic. It was a small lane… but full of life… people were busy shopping; crossing the roads… looking for their loved one’s… I spotted a family of two young kids with their parents… Young mother and young father were happy to feed Pani Puri to their kids… :)

What a moment… Khatte mein meetha

Small Pani Puri corner but for someone it was a corner of joy… Mother was wiping her son’s mouth after he would spill the Pani while trying to gulp the Puri… What a moment…

That’s a mother…

Father kept giving instruction to Pani Puri wala to make it better and add little meetha in it…

I remember how we used to have Pani Puri and chaat in Jabalpur

5o rupaye mein poore parivaar ki khushi mil jaati thi…

When I saw this family I was so happy… Happiness exists… it does… in form of small moments…

Hai na…

When a small baby stops crying in your arms…

When a good looking girl looks at you twice… you feel better for no reason…

When you wear new clothes and you think that everyone is looking only at you…

When kaka says “welcome” and you feel happy to see him…

Moments…

Let’s collect them…

Have a nice rocking eventful life :)

catch that moment...

catch that moment...

Creative Connect…

I always wondered why some of the greatest talents have not worked together? Like Shakhan with Raj Kumar SantoshiAmit ji with Mani RatnamAmir Khan with Mani sir and so many…

If you count, these combinations come in decades.

I am dying to see powerful performers like Dilip Kumar and Amitabh Bachchan coming together again …

When Ravi Chopra ji introduced me to Amit ji I never thought it would be a start of a new journey… Journey of two creative minds…

I call it creative connect.

Jodi toh oopar wala hi banata hai…:)

buddham sharanam gachchami...

buddham sharanam gachchami...

I again met Amit ji two days back… Early morning… To narrate my dream project Buddham Sharanam Gachchami

I still remember my first narration with him… For Bhoothnath… I was so nervous…

This time I was creatively more connected with him… I was nervous… but a lot less than the last time…

Its the creative connect which makes these pairs… pairs of actors… pairs of directors and actors… pairs of writers with directors… pairs of creative people …

Hai na…

I just discovered this two days back… while sitting with Amit ji…

And the good news is… Amit ji has agreed to do Buddham Sharanam Gachchami…:)

And you will see the combination of Amit ji and me will generate some milestone films…

I mean it…

Similarly I felt that I had to connect and work with Rishi Kapoor ji… For certain reasons… we have a major connect… May be it’s because we have the same hunger… Creative hunger… We are bound to make many more good films…

Its very strange but creative teams form on their own. Art Directors, Cameraman, Music directors.

If you observe, old directors always repeated the same creative team.

Now I know why…J

It’s the creative connect…J

Efforts…

It happened last week. I was standing near the mirror and I saw one eye lash on my left cheek.

I remembered that had someone told me, it’s like a wish… a chance to wish…

Ok… I don’t believe in this… but this time I wanted to try…

I kept that eye lash on my left hand… back side of my palm… and tried to blow it…

I did pray and wished in my mind before blowing it.

I opened my eyes and it was still there…

Iski toh…

I again closed my eyes and blew it…

Again it’s there…

This time I opened my eyes and blew it hard and it disappeared…

Effort… To wish… I needed that effort…

There is no miracle in life… Only efforts… which can take you to the heights.

I have never taken short cuts. Life never allowed any short cuts for me. And I am proud of that.

To even wish… to pray… to desire we need to put in efforts…

I could not even blow a thin eye lash without it…

When I look back in life, I realize that all what we have achieved, has not come easy to us but by a lot of persuasion and consistency… Consistency of desire and efforts…

Efforts in right direction… Efforts on time… Efforts with open eyes…

Hope you get it what I am trying to say…

Have a nice successful May day…:):)
